Payment Terminal - Hardware to Hardware Integration: Siemens Sicharge D x CCV set up

Introduction

The Siemens Sicharge D charger can be equipped with a CCV contactless credit card payment terminal, integrated behind the charger’s glass to enable ad‑hoc charging.

This implementation uses a custom extension to OCPP 1.6, referred to as California Pricing (version 1). The extension enables tariff and charging cost information to be displayed directly on the charge

With this implementation, the charger can:

  • display tariff on the charger
  • display running costs
  • display final costs

To enable full functionality on the GreenFlux platform, the steps below must be completed.

Pre‑requisites

Responsibility: Customer & Customer Success Manager (CSM)

Siemens Sicharge D chargers used in combination with CCV payment terminals must be connected via the public endpoint.

This is required because CCV payment terminals need direct access to external payment services on the public internet. Such communication is not possible when the charger is connected through a private endpoint, which restricts outbound internet access.

Responsibility: Customer Success Manager (CSM)

Contactless authorization must be enabled as part of the tenant configuration. This requires the correct setup at cpo or cpo contract level to allow contactless payment authorization on chargers.

Responsibility: Customer

The California Pricing extension must be activated at the charge station level. This setting is available on the charge station details page in the EV Portal.

Please note that the pre‑authorization amount, along with other payment‑related settings, is configured at the charge station level.

These settings can be found on the Charge Station Configuration page in the EV Portal.

All the rest of the steps to onboard the charge station are the same.
