Charge Station Manual Setup

Introduction

There are two ways to add Charge Station in the EV Portal: 1. via Import file;

  1. manually via EV Portal.

This article guides you through the process of manual adding of new Charge Station (CS) in EV Portal.

Step 1: Access the Creation Wizard

Follow these steps to add a single Charge Station through the Ev Portal interface:

  1. Go to CPO β†’ Charge Stations
  1. Click the Add New button

Step 2: Configure Basic Details

In the Charge Station creation wizard you can add information about your Charge Station's state, operator (CPO name), identification (external ID), billing (tariff code), other relevant details (for example whether it accepts contactless payments) and its hardware:

State

Select the appropriate state for your Charge Station:

  • Stock: When the Charge Station has not yet been deployed (CDRs not invoiced)
  • Production: When the Charge Station is installed and operational
  • Deprecated: When the Charge Station is no longer in use

Make sure to select Charge Station type as it will be very important further on for billing:

Operator

Select the Charge Station's CPO (Charge Point Operator). The CPO Contract will be auto filled based on your selection.

Identification

Enter the external Charge Station ID. This is critical as it's used in OCPP communication and cannot be changed after creation. Display name is optional, please, fill it out as well if needed.

Billing

Select the appropriate tariff code that will determine which billing rule applies to this Charge Station. If applicable, also select a reimbursement tariff code.

Miscellaneous

Complete optional fields if needed:

  • Indicate if the station allows contactless payments
  • Add directions to help users locate the Charge Station
  • Specify if Stop on Parking is enabled
  • Add any relevant notes or maintenance information

Step 3: Configure Hardware

Select an appropriate hardware template from the pre-populated list for your CPO. If needed, you can create a custom hardware configuration.

After completing the details section, click Next to configure the location:

Step 4: Set the Location

  1. Either select an existing location (which will auto-complete as you type)
  1. Or create a new location by entering a name and clicking Add New
  1. Complete the location details including address and coordinates

Step 5: Finalize and Save

Review all information in the summary screen and click Save to create your Charge Station.

Important Notes

Keep in mind these important considerations when adding Charge Stations:

  • The external Charge Station ID used in the Identification section cannot be changed after creation
  • Ensure the selected tariff code is correct as it determines how charging sessions will be billed
  • Verify that location information is accurate to ensure the Charge Station appears correctly on maps
  • For batch operations, using the Charge Station Importer is recommended to save time

Next Steps

After adding your Charge Station:

  1. Verify the Charge Station appears correctly in your Charge Station list
  1. Test the connection between the physical Charge Station and the GreenFlux platform
  1. Once deployed at its final location, update the state from "Stock" to "Production"
