EV Portal User Requirements:
- Permission: 'Create:Location'
- Example roles: Admin, Charge Point Operator (CPO) Account Manager, CPO Manager, Location Manager
Step 1: Accessing locations
- Navigate to location in the left panel of the EV Portal (CPO > Assets > Charge Locations)
- Click "+ Add New"


Step 2: Creating a new location
- A screen will appear prompting you to enter the information about the new location (more detailed information in the following tab)
- Click "Next" to continue.

Directions to location

Restricted access

Restricted Access means that the Location is not obviously public or easily accessible.Specifying Restricted Access allows price transparency (ensuring we still publish tariffs for the Location) while warning drivers that not everyone might be able to charge here. | Example: a charger in an office parking lot behind a gate, or at a shopping center, which is for guest usage only. |
Regular Opening Hours

Restricted Access | Primarily, this is informative, in order to allow drivers to know what time the charge station is open and accessible.Secondarily, the charge station might be made unavailable for charging outside working hours. |
Opening Hours Exception
Description/Functionality | Tip |
Opening Hour Exceptions can be used to define date/time intervals on which the Charge Location is either open or closed, overwriting any Regular Opening Hours that may have been defined for the Charge Location. | Very useful for holidays that happen on week days. |
Location Payment Wallet
Description/Functionality | Tip |
Used for Private Charging Use Cases (Companies or Condominiums). It allows for the cost settlement between EV driver (condo tenant or employee) and condominiums or companies, using a payment service provider as intermediary. |
Step 3: Groups Tab
- Click "Next" to continue.

Contractual group structure
Each charge location might be (optionally) associated with a single contractual group (also referred to as geographical group). This might be relevant to use if there is the need from the CPO to provide different access rights to its users, according to a geographical logic (e.g. north region is covered by one team, south region by other).
Custom groups
On top of the contractual groups, each charge location might be (also optionally) be associated with one or multiple custom groups.
Step 3: Finalizing the location
- Double-check all chosen parameters and settings.
- Click "Save" to create the location.
- After saving, the location becomes visible in the overview.
