Confirmed Root Cause
The incident was caused by the way diagnostic messages were handled between EV Portal and connected services:
- System couldn't handle the volume of OCPI messages, leading to a backlog.
- The backlog blocked operations such as token authorization and charging data publication
Mitigation and Resolution
- Immediate corrective actions included clearing the backlog and disabling the process responsible for the issue.
- Development team is working on a permanent solution for the matter
Lessons Learned and Next Steps
- Retire the outdated process and associated components to eliminate risk of similar incidents.
- Strengthen deployment validation to ensure changes do not unintentionally reintroduce deprecated functionality.
